On Saturday and Sunday 9 and 10 April Brass Band Hombeek will again organise the Flemish Open Brass Band Championship (VOBK).<\/p>\n
After a forced break in 2020, we are now ready to treat you to a contest certainly worth a visit !<\/p>\n
On Saturday as from 16:00 sections C and A<\/a> can be listened to: Brassband Willebroek<\/strong>, Festival Brassband<\/strong>, Brassband Heist<\/strong>, Hauts de France Brass Band<\/strong>, Jugendbrassband Ober\u00f6sterreich<\/strong> and Brassband David Zwolle<\/strong> will perform pieces like Toccata E Fantasia (Thomas Doss), Lions of Legends (Thierry Deleruyelle), Heroes (Bruce Broughton), Other Lives (Oliver Waespi) and Journey to the Centre of the Earth (Peter Graham).<\/p>\n You can also hear two baritone soloists<\/strong> at work: Leen Vandenhende<\/strong> creates with Festival Brassband the piece \u2018Elena\u2019 (Nick Van Elsen) and from Austria you can watch Felix Geroldinger<\/strong> perform \u2018Pulse\u2019 by Thomas Doss.<\/p>\n On Sunday as from 12:00 sections D and B<\/a> will be on stage: Brassband de Thudinie<\/strong>, Brassband Leest<\/strong>, Brassband Lembeek<\/strong>, United Brass<\/strong>, Mercator Brassband<\/strong>, Young Brassband Willebroek<\/strong> and Brassband Bacchus<\/strong> will perform pieces by Philip Sparke (The Saga of Hakoon the Good, Tallis Variations), Jan de Haan (The Baltic Way), Lucy Pankhurst\/Andrew Baker\/Paul McGhee (Lucid Perspectives), Etienne Crausaz (Albinus Variations), Stijn Aertgeerts (Hope, Bipolar), Maarten Vermeersch (An Old Man\u2019s Tale) and many more.<\/p>\n
