In 2022 with its 7th title as French champion (2009, 2010, 2011, 2017, 2019, 2020 and 2022) against the formidable Paris Brass Band and a 2nd victory at the Flemish Open (2018, 2022) in competition with the marvellous Willebroek Brass Band, the Hauts-de-France Brass Band under the baton of Luc Vertommen has become the most awarded band of the French brass band scene.<\/p>\n

Founded in 1992 as a brass ensemble by Philippe Lorthios and a team of friends, the orchestra became a brass band in 1997, changing its French horns for a tenor horn section. At that time, the name of the band was \u00ab\u00a0Nord pas de calais\u00a0\u00bb, the same name as the northern French region which changed for \u00ab\u00a0Hauts-de-France\u00a0\u00bb in 2016.<\/p>\n

20 years ago, the band started its European adventure by winning the B-section at the EBBC in Brussels (2002). Since then, a French national championship has been founded (since 2004). As a result, the band had the opportunity to represent France several times in the championship section ; recently in Utrecht (2018) since the Palanga (2020) and Malm\u00f6 (2021) championships had to be cancelled.<\/p>\n

The musicians look forward to playing in Birmingham for the EBBC 2022. In the orchestra, the average age is less than 30 years old and most of the younger members grew up in the band.<\/div>\n
Proud of its 30 years of history, the Haut-de-France Brass Band is now starting a new chapter. The team is aiming to keep playing at the highest european level in the coming years.<\/div>\n

Fond\u00e9 en 1992 comme un ensemble de cuivres par Philippe Lorthios et un groupe d\u2019amis, l\u2019orchestre est devenu un brass band en 1997 en rempla\u00e7ant des cors d\u2019harmonie par un pupitre de tubas altos. \u00c0 cette \u00e9poque, le nom \u00e9tait \u00ab Brass Band Nord Pas-de-calais \u00bb du nom de la r\u00e9gion \u00e9ponyme devenue \u00ab Hauts-de-France \u00bb en 2016.<\/div>\n

Il y a 20 ans, le brass band a commenc\u00e9 son aventure europ\u00e9enne par une victoire dans la section B du championnat d\u2019Europe \u00e0 Bruxelles (2002). Depuis lors, un championnat de France a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 (depuis 2004). Ainsi, l\u2019orchestre a eu l\u2019opportunit\u00e9 de repr\u00e9senter son pays au sein de la Championships Section ; la derni\u00e8re fois \u00e0 Utrecht (2018) puisque les championnats \u00e0 Palanga (2020) et Malm\u00f6 (2021) ont d\u00fb \u00eatre annul\u00e9s.<\/div>\n

Les musiciens sont impatients de jouer \u00e0 Birmingham lors du championnat d\u2019Europe 2022. La moyenne d\u2019\u00e2ge de l\u2019ensemble est inf\u00e9rieure \u00e0 30 ans et les plus jeunes membres ont grandi au sein de l\u2019orchestre.<\/div>\n
